Abstract
The deponent said that he knew Timothy Ward and Nicholas Coulton of Sterling about 30 years ago, and that they paid taxes to New Jersey. He does not know under which government they were first settled. The Sterling Iron Works, built about 30 years before, were taxed under New Jersey. He does not know under which government the first inhabitants of Ringwood were first settled. Now they pay taxes to New Jersey. Fifty years ago, Coenraad Vanemaker and Dederick Vanema, who lived at Ramapo about a mile northeast of Lucas Kierstead's house, paid taxes to New Jersey. Signed, Daniel Hennion, his mark.
