Abstract
He has been reluctant to proceed further with the land purchase from the Cayuga Indians since he has learned that there is a party within the tribe that oppose the sale. Should the groups agree to apportion at the purchase price, and if the price set is reasonable, New York will be willing to make the purchase to extinguish the likelihood of future disputes concerning the land.
