Abstract
Cornelius Leydecker, 75 years old, now resident in Hackensack Precinct, is not interested in the outcome of the controversy. He says that he knows the Devans Kill and the Tiene Uly Kill. He knows Bernardus Verveelen, who was Constable and Tax Collector from 1706 to 1712 in Bergen County. He also knew Barent Nagle and Resolvent Nagle, both of whom lived eastward of Bernard Verveelen, paid taxes to N ew Jersey government. He also knows that Ivar Morris, who lived at Scrawlenberg, about a mile from the Devars Kill, settled under and paid taxes to New Jersey. Signed Cornelius Leydecker.
