Abstract
The deponent said that Johannes Westphal [Westfall] lived about five or six miles northeast of the mouth of the Mackhackamack forty years ago, and that he heard from Westphal's son that his father held his lands under New Jersey. Nicholas Westphal [Westfall], Thomas Decker, Hans Decker lived on farms on the Mackhackamack south of Jacobus Swartwout's f arm when the deponent first became acquainted with the Mackhackamack forty years ago. He believes all inhabitants there held their land under New Jersey. Signed, William Knap, his sign. In Jay's hand.
