Abstract
The deponent, 39 years old, living in Ulster County near Newburg, is not interested in the outcome of the controversy. He said that in the summer of 1754, at a public meeting at the house of Petrus Decker, a paper was read offering a reward of 30 pounds to whoever would apprehend Colonel Thomas Decay to bring him under the government of New Jersey. Richard Gardener offered the deponent, and probabl y some others, four shillings a day to help capture Decay. Early the next morning, the deponent went to the house of Colonel Decay to warn him of the intention to apprehend him. Signed, Cornelius Wood. In Jay's hand.
