Abstract
The Miss Hagers have come to stay with Edward Laight. M. Hagar has a sweet child with her, Mary. Mr. Raush invited her and Cornelia to play on the organ in St. Paul's Church; they sang several duets. Has just heard of Mrs. McCover's/McCever's death. She had gone to Italy for her health. Mr. George Lawrance/Lawrence came to see her father about a debt discharged to John Jay and would like more infor mation. Remember her to Uncle and Aunt LeRoy and Cornelia. Mr. King arrived and will stay with Mr. Low for a short while. She (Mary) received a large packet of letters from Uncle Bayard. Uncle Bayard, Mr. Wallace, Mr. Wilks are to come back from Liverpool, but fears it will not be until August. Announcement of war just proclaimed. The bells rang when Mr. King arrived, but it turned out to be for a fire rather than him.
