- Abstract
- Acknowledges receipt of Whitelaw's letter of February 11, 1828. Says that he has heard from Mr. Hovey, who informs him that there are several settlers on his father's land who intend to claim it by possession. In case of a suit, William Jay asks Whitelaw to inform him what evidence of the Division of land between his father and Mr. Williams on 24 Nove mber, 1826, would be legal proof, and where additional evidence of the division might be obtained. He reports that his father's health continues very infirm.
