- Writes in July, fearful that his letter of May 13 may have miscarried since Whitelaw has not replied nor drawn on Jay for the sum mentioned. Sends another copy of the May letter which directs Whitelaw to draw on Peter Augustus Jay for money for Jay's lands in Vermont and to sell two or three lots as Whitelaw advised in a letter of November 1821.
