According to observations made with Bird's astronomical quadrant of one foot radius, Rittenhouse and Montresor find that the point of land between the Mackhackamack and Delaware or Fishkill Rivers at their confluence if 41 degrees 21 minutes and 37 seconds latitude. Having measured the rivers, they find that the Delaware or Fishkill is seven chains ninety six links wide, and the Mackhackamack two c hains eighty seven links wide.
