- Abstract
- Appoints at his pleasure Nicholas Verlett president of a Court of Judicature for the inhabitants of Bergen, Gemoenepaese, Ahasymes, and Hooboocken, to be held whenever necessary in the town of Bergen. Hermanssneem Casper Steynmets of Bergen and Elyas Michiels of Gemoenepaese are appointed magistrates. Verlett is to appoint a court clerk and a sergeant to execute such acts and warrants as shall be m ade from time to time, provided that these writs and suits be made in His Majesty's name. No appeal of suit under ten pounds should be made to the Governor and his Council. From the Public Records of the Province of New Jersey, III, 1. Certified by Bowes Reed.
