Abstract
After consideration of the bill of the New York Assembly dated 23 December 1717 and of the merchants" objections to it, the council recommends that His Majesty confirm the act because it would tend to the great advantage and benefit of the Province of New York. But at the same time they recommend that the Governors of the colonies be prevented from increasing paper credit, and that they be asked ev ery six months to send to one of His Majesty's Secretaries of State and to the Board of Trade accounts of the progress of such bills. From the Council Office, New York. Entered before the Commission to settle the boundary between New York and New Jersey 2 August 1769.
