Whereas Dohorywachqua and Orage, representatives of the four Mohawk "castles", for themselves and for Canachquo, Ocquary and Sohoriowachque, the lawful owners of the land mentioned, on 3 July 1672 sold to Sander Glenn, John Van Epps, and Sweer Teunesse, acting for the inhabitants of the town of Schenectady, a tract called Canaquarioeny adjacent to Schenectady, Dongan now grants and confirms this la nd to William Teller et al. on behalf of the inhabitants of the town of Schenectady. This patent shall not annul a former one dated 30 October 1683, for a piece of land of 160 within Schenectady granted to Jaques Cornelise, William Teller et al. shall hold the land in free and command socage according to the tenure of the Manor of East Greenwich in Kent, paying yearly as quit rent 40 bushels of good winter wheat on or before 25 March to an agent of the Duke of York at Albany.
