Title
[Document, 1798 November 26]
Abstract
John Jay has just received from Mr. Van Alen a map and field book of Lord Amherst's tract. Contrary to what he had believed, the tract is of inferior quality and will not become valuable until all the better lands are already settled. John Jay thinks it would be inadvisable to sell any of the lands at the present time.
