- Abstract
- Writing from Trenton, reports that the French fleet has set out in pursuit of Arnold, and may succeed in catching him because of the superiority of their naval forces. Congress has at last consented to "what I know was agreeable to your Idea before you left us." Livingston hopes their consent has not come too late to be effective. Livingston thinks that the British manifesto against the States Gene ral will convince all Europe that a prince already at war against three powers should be humbled.
