[Document, 1788 June n.d.]
Abstract
Acknowledges receipt of 8 June. So far the convention has proceeded with moderation. There is, however, no hint of an accommodation between opposing parties, nor is there likely to be one until the adherents of the opposing party see that their leaders have more extensive views than they. "The people however are Gradually coming right notwithstanding the singular Pains taken to prevent it." The acc ession of other states will do much to spur New York to acceptance.
