Abstract
Congress had received Washington's letter but, as the enclosed act shows, they refused Major Harnage and Captain Hawker's request but will allow them to stay where they are. Proceedings from the court martial of the officers at Springfield also enclosed and returned to Washington for whatever action he deems proper.
