- Abstract
- Enclose a copy of a letter received from John Adams and the obligation of the negotiation for one million guilders opened in Holland. These should be returned as soon as the negotiation is ratified by Congress. Although it is a disappointment that not more than 240,000 florins were raised for the payment of interest due on 1 June, Willem and Jan Willinck & Nicholas & Jacob van Staphorst exercised a ll possible zeal in the matter, and will continue to do so. Enclosures: [before 30 June 1787], Adams to ?, [ca. 30 June 1787] Obligation of the negotiation on behalf of the United States for one million guilders. Missing. Had been enclosed in: 30 June 1787, Willem & Jan Willink & Nicholas & Jacob van Staphorst to John Jay.
