- Abstract
- Autograph Letter, lacking its last page and signature. Received Kitty's letter of 6 June and Susan's of 27 May. All of her sisters' letters have reached her. Glad that Kitty has decided to leave Elizabethtown -- wishes "the rest of the family were equally timid." Concerns for their safety. Mr. and Mrs.. Linn. Suggests the Livingstons move to Trenton d uring the rest of the war. Regards to Mary White Morris. Promises "to make amends for my present dullness by some brilliant relations, if I should search the spanish romances to discover them." Ordered apron from Paris for Mrs. Morris. Praises Robert Morris. Will set out for San Ildefonso next week. Looking forward to seeing royal gardens there. Describes gardens of Madrid and Aranjuez. Describes Carlos III. "I often think papa would be fond of amusing himself in the manner that the king does, that is hunting, fowling, & fishing, for which purpose he rises very early."
