Abstract
Troup gives Jay a description of the enemy landing and their own retreat from Peekskill Bay. The chief losses were in cattle, sheep and some light articles from the public stores. Praises the conduct of the officers and men. Has visited Mrs. J and the family is well. French ships have arrived eastward and southward with arms, ammunition and clothing.
