- John Jay acknowledges receipt, from Peter Augustus Jay, of Morris Miller's enclosure of Mr. Vanderkemp's "Sketch" of a proposed work sent to John Jay at Mr. Vanderkemp's request. John Jay asks to be informed what is expected of him on the subject so he may "discern, what it would be proper" for him "to say or do relative to it.
