Abstract
Instead of answering all Livingston's letters, Jay proposes to visit him. Has not yet decided what to do about his stay in New York and must spend some time arranging his private affairs. When Congress meets, Jay will decide whether to take the appointment. If he goes back to the law, he will be glad to aid Livingston at anytime.
