- Abstract
- Has just returned to the city from Elizabeth and discovered to his dismay that the convention will be meeting in White Plains, following a scheme of Gouverneur Morris. Worried about what the public will think. The prosecution of Governor Tryon's plot delayed. Fears enemies will cast them in a bad light because of it. Resolve passed, giving certain powers to the generals. Wanted Philip Livingston to stay longer, but he left for Philadelphia. Dispirited and out of patience.
