- Acknowledges Peter Jay's letter of 19 Nov. and is glad that Peter Jay has taken "prudent Steps on the threatening affair," on the Globe house, which he hopes can be amicably settled. No "apology" is needed to the Society for Rev. Punderson's visiting Rye this winter "without their Leave." Johnson is expecting a Letter from the Society, including some mention of Rye.
