- Abstract
- The Archbishop of Cantebury has expressed wonderment that the Church at Rye had never applied to the Society [For the Propagation of the Gospel in Foreign Parts in London] for another minister since the death of Mr. Wetmore. Johnson wants Peter Jay's information on this so he will know what to write in answer. Johnson has "good reason" to hope that Jay may be an honor and comfort to himself and Pet er Jay as well as a "blessing to his Country."
