Abstract
Reports on resolution of Georgia Assembly of 30 January, 1788 and letter from de Zespedes to George Handley, 12 December, 1784. (These documents enclosed.)Georgia slaves have fled to East Florida. Spanish authorities have apprehended slaves but cannot deliver them to their masters without instructions from Spanish Court, as Georgia, while British colo ny did not observe a reciprocal conduct. Suggests that copies of papers be sent to Charge d'Affaires at Madrid with instructions to negotiate the matter. Also, communicate matter to Encardode Negocios and ask for his interposition in the matter.
