Abstract
Provides that officers, seamen, marines, and soldiers are to have sole property of all prizes taken in Europe after 4 January 1739, and elsewhere after 4 January 1740. The Lord High Admiral is to be enabled to grant commissions to privateers. Establishes measures for proving claim and claiming such prizes and determines cost of such proceedings. Provides that charters be granted to adventurers. Bou nty money is to be paid for taking or destroying enemy ships. The value of prizes is not to be judged in American Courts of Admiralty. The money from unclaimed prizes is to go to Greenwich Hospital.
