Summary
Richard Soderstrom has obtained the office of consul from Governor Hancock in order to screen himself from a suit being brought against him by Sears and Smith. He thus holds the office irregularly. Procured a loan on Sears and Smith of 14,000L on his brother Carl Soderstrom which he proceeded to overdraw and the bills were finally protested.
