Summary
Tells Jay of the seizure of his cargo of pelts at Natchez by the Spanish. When the boat was liberated a went on to New Orleans his captain was informed that he had no right to retain the property. Fowler asks for redress as he was unaware that the Mississippi was not freely navigable.
