- Fort Mifflin surrendered and all our troops escaped after setting fire to the barracks. General Washington reinforced with 2,500 troops. Philadelphia has lent General Howe 20,000 pounds and he has given the old money of Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York currency. Dearth of food in Philadelphia.
