Summary
We may be embarrassed by immature councils at home which would be worse now with the bright aspect of our affairs. Sorry the loan in Holland will not cover all our bills. Spain has "little money, less credit, and very moderate talents. "Montmorin thinks any precipitous note should be avoided. Jay will draw on BF for his and Carmichael's salary. Glad Laurens free. Sorry to hear of Deane's turn of mind. We must be true to our faithful ally France and Britain will come to our position.
