- Summary
- The position of New York City as the chief commercial emporium of the United States necessitates an exchange such as those found in Europe. Though the erection of such an edifice would cost not less than $500,000, an income may be obtained by renting offices in the building. Since a system of individual subscriptions would be impractical, the petition asks for an incorporating act by the state legislature for erecting the building.
