- Summary
- When he accepted the presidency of the American Bible Society, his reluctance was only from the apprehension that the state of his health would prevent him from fulfilling the duties of office. A sense of duty now forbids him to deprive the society any longer from the services of a presiding officer, and he wishes the Board of Managers to be informed of his resignation. Bears witness to the zeal, fidelity, and ability with which the concerns of the society have been conducted.
