- Summary
- In obedience to his request they enclose a copy of the proceedings of the Board of Managers of the American Bible Society relative to his resignation. Express their regret for the necessity which has led him to retire, especially as the Society will feel the want of his illustrious name and patronage. Hope the remainder of his days will be happy in correspondence with the magnitude of his services to religion; and to the independence and freedom of his country.
