Summary
Letter signed. In the hand of Tench Tilghman. Acknowledges receipt of letters of April 4 and 7. Encloses proceedings of court martial held on officers of the "Elaboratory" deputy quartermaster at Springfield as well as a letter received on 10 April from Major Henry Harnage on behalf of himself and Captain Earle Hawker of the 62nd Regiment. Washington asks that Harnage's request be granted. Also encloses New York newspapers of April 7 and 8. Enclosures not present.
