- Summary
- Protests the publication of the letter of Sullivan, and the delivery of a copy to his door. The letter, stating that since Spain has rejected his services the writer will join forces with the American settlers west of the Alleghenies, is a threat to sweep the Spaniards out of the Mississippi Valley, unless Gardoqui will negotiate. This is the original letter, with translation, enclosing the newspaper containing the letter of John Sullivan. The paper involved is The Columbian Herald or the Independent Courier of North America, published August 6th, 1787, presumably at Charleston, South Carolina
