- Summary
- The money has arrived safely to the New York Treasury. Happy about the liberality of the French treaty. Sends sundry papers on the Vermont situation and show the dissension prevailing in that area. Hopes Congress will now take action. Many of the settlements on the border of Lake Champlain have been destroyed. If there is an enemy attack in this area before next spring the Legislature will have to make provision for better defense as it is inadequate at the present time to defend so vast an area.
