- Gives Jay a note for Congress: Again protests the entrance of Americans from Georgia into Spanish territory. The Indians are under the protection of Spain. They were embittered at the end of the last war by the British cession of all their territory in Georgia to the U.S. They have made many representation against the incursions of the people of Georgia They have tried to force Indians into deeds of cession. They have tried peacefully to protect their lands. They know that Congress has not authorized these movements. Diego de Gardoqui is sure Congress will take measures immediately to settle the boundaries of this area.
