- Summary
- Reports on a letter from Blair McClenachan: his trial unquestionably ill founded but part of legal system to have to go through with it. Jay considers the New York law on granting relief in cases of certain trespasses as a violation of the laws of nations and the faith of the treaty between Britain and the U.S. The action against an American citizen in the King's bench must have been promoted by the example set in this state.
