- Summary:
- Doubts and apprehensions exist in America concerning the actions of Britain. Jay hopes that mutual confidence and a spirit of harmony will grow. What strength America may have to influence future events in the world is difficult to predict, but Jay is confident she will not remain dust in the balance scales of the nations of the world. While they enjoy considerably more domestic tranquility than the English press reports, the federal government is not perfect and is in need of modification.
