- Summary
- Has looked over the sermon given on death of Washington. He disagrees with Miller's use of the term emancipation in regard to the American revolution. At both the First and Second Congresses, it was felt that America had been free, and they even appealed for a return to their situation in 1763. As to Washington's civil administration, is it true that wisdom causes doubts concerning his policies, or rather that sentiments of partisanship are responsible for this?
