- Summary
- The New York delegates to get $4 a day, which will not make up for the financial loss Jay has sustained. However, the honor seems to be considered equivalent to the residue. Cannot get away the next week because it would leave New York without ample representation. Hopes all the family will soon be in Elizabethville. Asks Sally for her pity since he will not be with her on Christmas day. If the Congress does not adjourn in less than ten days, only actual imprisonment will keep Jay from his wife. Keep up your good spirits and do not let disappointment occasion unavailing anxiety.
