- Yesterday Lord Grenville gave John Jay a note for Mr. Hammond on subject of American-Canadian relations-exactly what John Jay had written Randolph on the 12th. Grenville asked that John Jay forward the note to Hammond by way of Randolph's office. Note enclosed. Similar note will undoubtedly follow to Dorchester and Simcoe. Acknowledges Randolph's letters of 27 and 28 May, 28 May and 8 June.
