Summary
Asks Grenville to consider the expediency of John Jay's sending Washington "such assurances, as may tend to compose his; and the public mind in America." Suggests that he be allowed to say that if cases of capture are of considerable extent, British Government will take them into consideration; and suggests that it would be proper to open the door for Appeals; and instruct British officers in America to promote Anglo-American friendship. Gratitude for the "gracious Reception" tendered him by Grenville and their Majesties. (enclosed in John Jay to Randolph 6 July 1794)
