- Summary
- As General Schuyler is to deliver this letter, he will inform Jay of his own affairs. Affairs of Congress have recovered. Congratulations on the formation of our new government. The lack of sufficient executive government in other states has hampered their operation. In this state Toryism is rife. Want of spirit and vigor in present government and populace. Duer is pleased that Colonel Lee may not be included in the next delegation from Virginia. Condolences on the death of Jay's mother.
