Summary
Principal design of letter, to introduce Colonel Thornton who will pass through Kingston on way to New Hampshire from Congress. He is a delegate and will inform Jay of Congressional events. 4,000 troops joining General George Washington in the south; many more on the way. The inoculation "is a great tho necessary impediment" to the army. Shall soon write to Congress with particulars of foreign intelligence.
