- Summary
- Family news. Recent events at Washington and reports of danger to New York and other places excite uneasiness at Bedford. Portions of the militia have been ordered to New York where it is said their accommodations have not been satisfactory. News that banks have stopped paying in specie causes apprehension that bills will depreciate. It is also feared that Congress will issue paper money as legal tender.
