- Summary
- Since Maria has received the packet sent to Jay through Mr. Van Zandt by Governor Tichenor (of Vermont), will wait until opportunity to send it. Went to Rye last Saturday with her sister; met Peter there. Friends as well as usual. Health is neither very good nor very bad. Will try to exercise when the weather improves. Hopes Maria's operation was efficacious. Is only one blessing less of the many that she has. It becomes us to resign to God's will. William leaves college in September; will go to Albany. Wishes him to board in a decent private family. If Mr. Henry consents to have him, Maria can occasionally inquire about him.
