Summary
The stone house has been rented to DeWitt Clinton; landlords do not find it easy to rent their houses because of the threat of war. The embargo has been a severe blow to those who make their living by laboring on the docks. Stocks have begun to rise again. The conditions on the roads prevent his visit to Bedford at present.
