Has been collecting money from Mr. Church, Mr. Pope's and Michael's tenants. North American bank stock and other bank accounts mentioned. Has given power of attorney to someone in Washington whom Mr. Leon Bleecker recommended. Transaction with Mr. Murray about wine from Lisbon. Eddy has been prevented from going to Bedford by the number of marshes there. Because the only ship going to Madeira has sailed, Peter Jay plans on going to Bermuda instead. Someone has offered to buy the house on Stone Street. Halsey is digging out lots on Bayard's Hill; if John Jay came to New York, he could do some advantageous business.
