Advised his mother (Sarah Livingston Jay) to not return to Albany; the heat is terrible. Mr. and Mrs. Munro went to Mamaroneck where their youngest child has been very ill. Uncle Augustus's brig is finished but not sent; he has recently spent a lot of time with Sir James on the death of Van Wisekle. Has not yet heard from Major Lyons.
